Be sure to live in comfort with the stuff that can help you save a buck and be more comfortable indoors in a cheap unfurnished place to stay.
#Cooking:
*Triangia mini cookset 6" pot, frypan/lid, lid lifter/pot handle, alcohol stove w/stand
*Lexan cup and bowl
*Stinger-heater coil-imersion heater 110/220 call it whatever boiler plugs in and heats your water
*favorite spices, pepper, salt, soup mix or bullion cubes
*keychain size can opener
*knife, fork, spoon
#Living
*Sleeping bag or sleep sack or twin sheet
*alarm clock
*flashlight
*universal rubber flat drain plug
*sewing kit
*compactable folding tote or backpack
*soap box or liquid soap
*toilet paper
*flip flop sandals
*door stop or travel door lock
*usb keychain computer drive
With a pot set and a stinger-boiler you can make soups. Add water and your veggies boil til finished unplug and remove stinger then (and only after unless you want to gunk up your stinger) add spices or soup base.
Many of these items are totaly optional but it is nice to be able to plug a tub or sink, boil water for food or drink.
The USB keychain is nice as you will likely use public computers (hopefuly they are running higher than win98 or you must download a driver). You may want to keep an electronic diary or save e-mails or documents.
A little sealed packet of cash American, Euros, or local is a good idea for reserve keep it seperate and hidden. I have read of a guy who had sewn a few small gold coins into his pants, useful if you can find a buyer.
